Main Street America
Main Street America is a national organization dedicated to revitalizing historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts through a comprehensive, place-based approach. Founded in 1980 as the National Main Street Center, it collaborates with a diverse network of communities across the United States to promote shared prosperity, resilient economies, and improved quality of life. Over the past 40 years, Main Street America has generated over $101 billion in local reinvestment, rehabilitated 335,000 buildings, created 782,000 new jobs, and started 175,000 new businesses in more than 2,000 communities.
